Always Heard

Privacy policy

A private place should be clear about what it keeps.

Always Heard is built for emotional support, reflection, and being heard. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Overview

The short version

We collect the information needed to run Always Heard: your account, what you choose to write or say, mood and journal entries, listener activity, safety reports, and basic technical logs.

  • We use your information to provide Aria, listener support, account features, safety tools, and product reliability.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • Some information may be processed by trusted vendors that help operate, protect, and support the service.
  • Always Heard is not therapy or emergency care. If you may be in danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis line now.

Information

What we collect

Account information

If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information such as your name, email address, profile image, and sign-in account identifier.

Content you create

We may store Aria conversations, journal entries, mood check-ins, listener session records, messages, safety reports, and account settings you create in the app.

Technical and activity information

We collect basic logs and activity data such as timestamps, session status, feature usage, error information, browser or device signals, cookies, and local storage needed for sign-in and app reliability.

Use

How we use information

  • Provide and personalize Aria, journals, mood check-ins, and listener sessions.
  • Keep your account signed in and connected to the right data.
  • Support safety reviews, abuse prevention, moderation, and service integrity.
  • Debug, maintain, secure, and improve Always Heard.
  • Respond to support, privacy, and account deletion requests.

Aria and listeners

How AI and human support use your content

Aria uses automated systems to generate responses. Your message and relevant conversation context may be processed so Aria can respond, maintain reliability, and support safety. We use privacy-forward settings and controls where available.

Human listeners only receive the information needed to support the session you choose to start. For safety reports, we may keep a limited session snapshot so the report can be reviewed and addressed.

Sharing

When we share information

We share information only as needed to operate Always Heard, support you, meet safety and legal obligations, or protect the service.

  • Trusted vendors and tools that help us host, authenticate, support, secure, analyze, and operate Always Heard.
  • Human listeners when you choose to start a listener session.
  • Legal, safety, or abuse-prevention channels when required or when we believe it is necessary to prevent harm.
  • A successor organization if Always Heard is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer.

Controls

Retention, deletion, and choices

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain records, improve reliability, and meet safety or legal needs. You can use app controls to clear certain content where available, delete your account, or contact support for help.

Account deletion removes ordinary account data from active use, but some records may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, safety records, legal records, or fraud and abuse prevention systems.

Security

Security and limits

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so please avoid sharing information you do not want processed through an online support product.

Always Heard is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to restrict the account and delete the information as appropriate, unless we need to keep limited records for legal, safety, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.

Always Heard should not be used for emergencies, diagnosis, treatment, or professional advice.
